As the financial year draws to a close, it's a great time to recognise the people whose support keeps CIS going. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our End of Financial Year Appeal, donated during the year or joined as a member or friend. Your support has allowed us to develop and communicate policies that give power and responsibility back to individuals and communities.

The lure of taxpayer funds has proven too strong for most think tanks to resist. While good research can be done with taxpayers' money, it undeniably erodes the independent mindset that is fundamental to challenging government overreach and error. Government won't curtail itself – and nor will those dependant on it.

Your support not only keeps us at the forefront of public debate on the tough challenges, it means we can advocate for change without fear or favour. I thank every one of you who have contributed your personal support to the public good.
