CIS welcomed the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia, Philip Lowe. The Governor provided an overview of current developments in Australia’s economy and the global economy. CIS research director, Simon Cowan, moderated the discussion and Q&A.

Mr Lowe commenced as Governor in September 2016. Prior to his current role, he held the positions of Deputy Governor, Assistant Governor (Economic), and Assistant Governor (Financial System) in a career with the bank that spans over 40 years.

Mr Lowe is Chair of the Financial Markets Foundation for Children and a director of The Anika Foundation. He is also Chair of the Committee on the Global Financial System of the Bank for International Settlements.
