John Howard: A Sense of Balance – Melbourne

Join us Wednesday, March 15 as we welcome former Prime Minister John Howard OM AC to address the public-policy challenges facing Australia with CIS executive director Tom Switzer.

Many people are anxious about the state of today’s world and Australia’s place in it. We are besieged by crises on several fronts, and they are magnified by a deep sense of malaise that grips the national psyche.

From the economy and cancel culture to the energy transition and geopolitical tensions, the world is in a state of flux.

However, John Howard has faith that no matter what challenges and extremes threaten to upset our sense of balance, Australia’s institutions and people will remain robust into the foreseeable future.

The event venue has changed to being held at The Stamford Plaza Melbourne, located at 111 Collins St Melbourne.

John Howard OM AC was Prime Minister of Australia from 1996-2007 and and author of A Sense of BalanceOn how our sense of balance has defined us as a nation and will safeguard our future (HarperCollins).

Tom Switzer is executive director of the Centre for Independent Studies and a presenter at the ABC’s Radio National.
