David C Geary is Curators’ Professor and Thomas Jefferson Fellow in the Department of Psychological Sciences and Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Program at the University of Missouri in Columbia. He is a cognitive developmental and evolutionary psychologist with interests in mathematical cognition and learning.
He is author of several books spanning mathematical development and evolutionary foundations of individual differences, along with more than 300 articles and chapters across a wide range of topics.
He has co-edited a five-volume book series, Mathematical Cognition and Learning. These volumes include Evolutionary origins and early development of basic number processing; Development of mathematical cognition: Neural substrates and genetic influences; Acquiring complex arithmetic skills and higher-order mathematical concepts; Language and culture in mathematical cognition, and Cognitive foundations for improving mathematical learning.
